Fauzi Azar was by far the greatest place we have had the pleasure to stay in Israel. AS soon as we walked in we were wlecomed by the friendliest people, had the nicest view and sincerly felt like we were home.

Although our stay was short, we enjoyed every second of it and it will be encrypted in our memories (and on pictures!) for the rest of our lives.

Thank you to everyone there for such an ecstatic experience and make our travel one of the greatest so far.

All the best to all the people of Fauzi Azar and again, thank you for everything.

Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazareth is a great place to stay – I would highly recommend it to others and would definitely stay there again next time I’m passing through Nazareth. The location is great, it was very clean and the staff and volunteers there were fantastic. We had a great trip.
    Thanks guys!

This hostel is in a great location – a beautiful old Nazareth mansion in the heart of the old town. The dorm room was clean and comfortable, with lockers provided. The toilet and showers were spotless, the kitchen was big and well-equipped and there was free internet access. All in all it’s just a lovely, laid-back place, run by friendly and helpful staff. It’s the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in.

Dear Staff at the Fauzi Azar,

Greetings from Denmark, where we are back from our holiday in Israel.
We would like to thank you again for the wonderful time we had at the Fauzi Azar hostel. Such a lovely place, such a friendly and helpful
staff! It was a pleasure to stay with you, and we will definitely do it again next time we visit the country.

Our special greeting goes to Suraida whose personal care and attention
for us went way beyond what one would expect at an ordinary hostel.
But of course your hostel is not ordinary at all… Thank you for the wonderful olive oil, too! I have just had it again for breakfast with a nice goat cheese and some fresh vegetables, and I must tell you that
this is one of the most delicious olive oils I have ever tasted. And what is more, it will always remind us of the sunny days in Nazareth.

    Our best wishes,

Hey I just wanted to say thanks.
We had such a great stay at your Inn and really enjoyed Nazareth. We didn’t expect to stay so long, but the accomodations and the atmosphere were just the right mix.

The neighborhood was colorful, and although mazelike, after 2 days we seem to recognize the streets. It made it very nice as well to go on a small tour. My boyfriend is not fond of them but after we went a small 1 hour tour he was glad to have done it.

You’ve really made a great place where many different cultures can meet and sit down to have a chat. I’m glad we stayed. Thanks for a great experience.

I really liked the guide through the old town. The location in the middle of the old town is ideal

and makes the trip an exciting journey!

Our tour group of 41 pilgrims from Canada, US and Australia recently stayed at the Fauzi Azar Inn and the Al-Mutran Guest House as part of a ten day tour to Israel. We were able to arrange a two day bike tour on the Jesus Trail from Nazareth to Capernaum, camping in the Levi Forest mid-way through the bike tour. Very positive comments came from the tour group with regards to our accommodations, the after supper entertainment, our bike tour guide (Silvie) and the bike tour in general.
All pilgrims responded positively, that they would repeat the experience again.

The Fauzi Azar in was really the highlight of our trip to Nazareth, believe it or not. The staff is amazing- so enthusiastic and genuinely concerned with the well-being of the guests. We had a wonderful tour of the old city from one of the hostel volunteers, in which we visited many hidden gems and experienced more of the culture than we would have been able to on our own. The building is gorgeous, the people are fantastic. I wish I could have stayed longer!

It was later in the evening when my friend and I arrived in Nazareth. Both being so tired, we had trouble finding the inn. But wouldn’t you know it; Anna came on foot to find us and helped us with our luggage to the inn. We met David, who was so kind (I was totally out of my mind by this point! He must think me in need of a straight jacket!) and were shown a copy of our book which had been viewed by many (toda!). Miriam (my friend) chose the family room for her room while I was given the suite, which was just fabulous. I don’t know if I was just tired or the bed was really that comfy, but I slept like a log. Even morning prayer call at 4 am didn’t bother me except enough to stir slightly. What can I say about the breakfast??? Could I have eaten any more and could it have been any tastier? I think not. Miriam and I were given the world’s most wonderful guide for the Jesus Trail, of which we only wanted a sampling. Did we get the best? YES! I can’t decide if my favorite part was the climb atop the Horns of Hittim or the walk in the Valley of Doves. This is an artist’s dream of a place and one that an adventurous spirit should not miss.

    Shalom aleichem!

This place was way beyond my expectations. The 2 century old walls are full of character. The place is beautiful and nicely kept with friendly and helpful staff. They offered us homemade cake (3 to choose from) upon our arrival in the evening and they had fresh mint leaves and cut lemon and special Arabic tea. The breakfast was full of choices from local dishes to cereal. The room had clean linens and fresh towels. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Lonely Planet highly recommended Fauzi Azar as a top pick, and thought they steered me dead wrong on Squalid Walid’s in Old Acre, they were absolutely right in this case. Fauzi Azar Inn is the best bang for your buck in the entire country; for $55 each we got two single rooms, endless tea and coffee on the porch overlooking the garden, a cake baked daily for the guests, and more information on the area and tour options than I’ve ever seen in any five star hotel lobby. This is the place to stay in Nazareth.

One suggestion however – I think your map in the instructions could be better, like the one the reception gave us at the front desk! Also you really need to make it clear that it is not possible to drive there…just tell people there is a garage where it´s possible to park!

There really couldn’t be a better place to stay even if you’re only there for a night. Fauzi Azar Inn offers a warm welcome, a homely atmosphere and a very personal touch and is worth the trip to Nazareth. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean but it was Soraida’s story of how her family home became an inn welcoming people from all over the world that really made us feel at home.
